He is a former member of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada and is currently the President of the Canadian Association for Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. As well as authoring two texts on immigration and refugee law, he has published several articles in the fields of criminal law, tort law and legal theory. Professor Galloway is co-chair of the Legal Research Committee of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers (CARL).
