Private Eye points out that 30 percent of GP training schemes have vacancies.

    In Ontario Nurse Practitioners (mainly female) can now refer patients to Specialists, order tests and prescribe. .Physician Assistants (mainly male) also
    act as "Primary physicians". Specialists also also paid more & have more public respect. Why be a GP? Many Ontario GPs move into FOCUSED PRACTICE" = UK GPwSI.. .eg. addiction, anaesthetics, dermatology, orthotics, pain, "primary care mental health", sports medicine,
